Provide easy school and home strategies to maximize dDHH student's auditory access to spoken language to contribute to their speech, language, and literacy development
Provide resources to grow student's awareness and acceptance of their hearing differences
Hearing equipment requests and troubleshooting issues with equipment
Classroom observations to improve the student's and teacher's use of hearing equipment and improve the student's self advocacy
Individual meetings with student
Family-school meetings for students with new hearing diagnoses and/or new hearing equipment
ISP/IPP: we can work with you to provide hearing-related goals that will specifically target areas your dDHH student needs to work on
Please note every dDHH student should have an ISP that outlines the essential access technology they use and the strategies that help them gain better access to spoken language in all of their learning environments at school (even for students who currently do not seem to be experiencing academic or social impacts associated with their hearing loss)
Classroom presentations about how hearing works and how to protect your hearing
Offer community outings to bring dDHH students together from across SW Alberta
